In the SUNflower study it has been concluded that Dutch mopedists have a much higher risk (factor 2) per moped kilometre than moped riders in the other two countries. The aim of this research topic is to give an explanation of this high risk difference and to understand its backgrounds. As a result, recommendations for traffic safety measurements or policy improvements may contribute to a future reduction of traffic safety risks for moped riders.
